آزمون انگلیسی و فرانسه مورد تایید IRCC
یکی از مسایل قابل توجه برای متقاضیان مهاجرت به کانادا، آشنایی متقاضی با یکی از دو زبان رسمی کاناداست. سازمانی در کانادا به نام مرکز سنجش معیارهای زبان در کانادا Canadian Language Benchmark یا CLB مسئول تعریف سطح آشنایی با زبان های فرانسه و انگلیسی است.
اداره مهاجرت، پناهندگی و شهروندی کانادا (IRCC) برای ارزیابی مهارت‌های زبانی متقاضیان مهاجرت، آزمون‌های مشخصی را برای زبان‌های انگلیسی و فرانسه تأیید کرده است.
برای زبان انگلیسی، آزمون‌های CELPIP – General، IELTS – General Training و PTE Core مورد پذیرش هستند. این آزمون‌ها مهارت‌های شنیداری، خوانداری، نوشتاری و گفتاری را ارزیابی کرده و بر اساس سطح معیار زبان کانادایی (CLB) نمره‌دهی می‌شوند. متقاضیان باید حداقل نمره مشخصی را در هر مهارت کسب کنند تا واجد شرایط برای برنامه‌های مهاجرتی مانند اکسپرس انتری، برنامه‌های استانی و نیروی کار ماهر فدرال باشند.
برای زبان فرانسه، آزمون‌های TEF Canada و TCF Canada مورد تأیید IRCC هستند. این آزمون‌ها نیز همان چهار مهارت زبانی را بررسی کرده و برای متقاضیانی که قصد دارند از امتیازات اضافی مهارت در زبان دوم در سیستم مهاجرتی کانادا بهره ببرند، الزامی هستند. افرادی که قصد مهاجرت به استان کبک را دارند، معمولاً نیاز به ارائه مدرک زبان فرانسه دارند. نتایج تمامی این آزمون‌ها معمولاً به مدت دو سال معتبر بوده و پس از این مدت، متقاضیان ملزم به شرکت مجدد در آزمون خواهند بود.
